Dr. Harinder K. Bali did his MBBS from Jammu University in 1981, MD (Medicine) in 1985 and DM (Cardiology) in 1988, both degrees were from PGIMER Chandigarh. Doctor joined as Faculty in the
Department of Cardiology at PGIMER in Jan 1989 and served for over 25 years.

Dr Bali has more than 30 years of experience in cardiology. He introduced Primary Angioplasty for management of Heart attacks in this region. He has performed more than 15000 Coronary Interventions as primary operator. He was Additional Professor in PGI, Chandigarh.

His areas of expertise include: Coronary Artery Diseases (Elective and Primary PCI), devices in management of Advanced Heart Failure – Biventricular Pacemakers (CRT-P), Combo Devices (CRT- D) and ICDs. He also has extensive experience of performing Carotid Artery Stenting, Subclavian Artery Angioplasty/Stenting, Aortic Stenting, Angioplasty/Stenting of other Peripheral Arteries and Below Knee Interventions (BKI). He also introduced Trans Cutaneous Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVI) in this region. He is also proficient in performing Endovascular Stent Grafts in treatment of Arterial Aneurysms, be it Thoracic Aortic Aneurysms or Infra Renal Aortic Aneurysms (AAA).

He regularly performs non surgical treatment of aortic dissections with stent grafts. Dr. Bali has many first’s to his name. He was the first in the world to show the efficacy of stenting for the management of patients with Takayasu’s Arteritis (Pulseless disease)
He has been awarded Kataria Memorial Gold Medal in 1985, the highest academic awrd of PGI, Chandigarh

In 1990, he was awarded D P Basu award by cardiological society of India for being the best young investigator of the year

Dr. Bali is having more than 125 papers published in International and National journals including NEJM, JACC, American Heart Journal and Indian Heart Journal. His work includes interesting cases, case series and abstracts which are presented routinely at major international and national conferences.

He had served as International guest faculty at EuroPCR, TCTAP, GET, TCT and other major conferences. The HEART Foundation: It is the most prominent and active trust in the Tricity involved in carrying out public awareness programs about health, particularly, cardiac health.To translate its objectives into reality, over the years, he had – via the Heart Foundation- organized walkathons, meetings and CMEs / conferences on a regular basis for the general public to generate awareness of heart disease and actively promote measures to prevent it and for the medical fraternity to keep them abreast of latest developments in cardiovascular medicine.

The Heart Foundation also actively supports social initiatives – for example – Clean India to provide basic amenities to vulnerable sectors of society and various vaccination projects for prevention of communicable diseases amongst underprivileged children.
